Good morning, everyone! How about beginning the day with a giveaway, specifically three copies of my new book, Piece of Cake!
The entry period runs from now (October 27th, 2011) until midnight CST on Halloween (October 31st, 2011).
To enter, simply do is the following:
(1) Leave a comment telling everyone your very favorite cake! (Luscious Lemon Cake, from my book, is mine)
(2) "Like" enlightened cooking on facebook (immediately to your right, in the right hand column you will find the facebook box and the "like" option. If you do not have a facebook account, leave a note in your comment to that effect. If you already "like" enlightened cooking, you are good to go for step 2!)
There will be three winners, chosen by random.org. I will announce the winners on Tuesday morning (November 1st, 2011). Good luck!

Hmmmmm.. favorite cake? There are so many delicious cakes to choose from - picking a single one is difficult at best! I have always loved lemon cake but lately I've been on a chocolate binge - chocolate cake with creamy chocolate filling... not big on thick, heavy frosting though.
My favorite cake is carrot cake but i am not that partial when it comes to cake. Thanks for the chance!

I have always favored gingerbread...and happen to love your recipe for Moist, Dark Gingerbread...add a chopped apple to the batter, bake and serve warm with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce...heaven on a plate!

It's hard to choose...right now I'm leaning towards pineapple carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.
That chocolate one with the fudge sauce on the bottom. You know, the one where you pour boiling water and cocoa over the cake batter. Also, pretty much anything chocolate and vegan. Mmmmmm...cake!
Today my favorite cake is a spice cake. Yesterday, it was German Chocolate. Tomorrow... can't wait to find out.

I don't know if I can choose, but I had a dulce de leche cake recently which absolutely blew my mind.
My favorite cake is the Devil's Food Cake recipe from thezoe bakes blog (5 min artisan bread author). It has rum, coffee and cocoa- how could that be anything BUT spectacular?!
Having just one favorite cake would be like trying to have just one favorite ice cream flavor. Impossible! But white cake is always nice.
I like many kinds of cake, but yellow cake with chocolate frosting is a favorite.

Because I make and sell decorated cakes, when it's my birthday I like to have a cake that's a little different. My favorite would be an ice cream cake: yellow cake on top and bottom with cake batter ice cream layered in the middle and my recipe for butter cream frosting spread on top and over the sides :).
